[C38] Different builds?

John,

Some of the more subtle differences between the older boats and the newer include:

Older have running lights on the port and starboard side and are not as visible as the newer which have them mounted on the bow pulpit, the newer have a three drawers in the galley that face that nav station whereas the older have a drop down counter top without the drawers, the older also may have a slanted entry from the ladder to the salon rather than a small step. some boats have teak bulkheads in the head, some have engine access from the quarter berth and the newer models have the access to the engine from the cockpit locker cut down to the bottom of the bulkhead. Some have holding tanks and macerators where others do not. Other than that I dont believe there are any major differences.

Subject: [C38] Different builds?

I'm a Cal38 admirer, not an owner (yet). I'm wondering if there are years of manufacture that are more desirable than others? I like the boat for it's pedigree, lines, size, price and the Pardeys recommendation. Now I'm starting to look more closely. Thank for any feedback!

Smooth sailing,

John
