Rich:
Thanks. I have been pondering the cockpit drain problem for my
entire ownership period. A pair of 2" drains is what a 44' passage maker
down the dock from me has. My companionway slide has but about 1/2" of
teak on the inboard side, and the surveyor pointed out that a big wave
could crack it. He suggested that a new slide and set of slats that
would brace against the house. Seems excessive, but then.... I'm no
expert, as I said.
As I age, long offshore passages seem less attractive. I had a pipe
dream of the Baja Haja and beyond, but my work is just too interesting
and my wife, who loves to sail in the Bay and on short hauls outside,
has no interest in a long one.
