[C38] Are diesel engines significantly more fuel efficientthan gas?

Hi Marci,

Good question actually but I would tend to think that diesel is more efficient.
Also, a lot easier to get ahold of on small islands and then there is the passing ship or fishing boat which can usually spare a few gallons..
The biggest factor for me is diesel is far less combustible  ;^}

  I "changed the subject." I was simply curious about which type of engine is typically more fuel efficient: diesel vs. gasoline (which is why I changed the subject line to reflect it).

  Thanks, David.  Agreed.

  However, I did not ask the question comparing the two fuel types.

  Not sure how that subject was changed..

  Cheers,

    Jeff,

    It's a sailboat. If you're noticing the differnce between gasoline and
    diesel, you're not doing it right!
