[C38] Found a good engine here- Is it too big???

The 3 and 4 cylinder yanmars like to be run at 2800 to 3200 rpm or carbon
problems are a given. They are loud at that rpm, even with good engine
compartment insulation.

Max,
I don't know about those engines but we had a Yanmar 1cyl in our previous boat.
It replaced a 5 year old POJ BMW that the factory installed. The only problem we
ever had was with carbon fouling because we rarely ran it up to temp as we were
only about 10 minutes from slip to hoist. Almost 20 years later the Yanmar is
still running fine.
