Hello Max,

I'm old school which means you can't teach an old dog (like me) new tricks.

I've used Marine Tex on blisters for many years several different boats and have yet to have a blister come back. One thing I do though is to sand blast the blisters to completely open them before applying filler. If any void or moisture is left in the cavity, the blister will probably come back. A proper use of a sand blaster will not hurt the substrate but will prepare the blister for filler much better than by grinding the blister with a Dremel type tool which can damage the substrate fiberglass.

Even a cheap syphon type sand blaster will do a great job, they just require more air volume than a pressure canister type sand blaster.

After sanding (most painful job ever!!!!!!) all the bottom of the hull to the bare fiberglass, I have to fill out some blisters and probably do some fairing before applying the epoxy barrier coat..
What filling compounds are good for this job???? Any recommendation will be appreciated...
I've been looking at System Three QUICK FAIR and 3M High strength Blister repair filler or the 3M Premium filling compound.. Any experiences with one of this products????
