You are an angel.
I'll send pictures.
His exact words were "Quadrant is separated from the rudder stock." Said something was aluminum
When I looked at it I could see a cable was partially of a round deal on a vertical metal tube which I assume goes to the rudder.
Just don't "go to heaven" before commenting on pictures. LOL

  Patrivk,

Here's another Edson maunal that you will find useful in order to figure out what went wrong with your steering system. All of it can be serviced with the boat on the water, unless the rudder has to be removed, which can also be removed while on the water.

Your insurance guy told you that there were some problems with the quadrant, have you figure out what's the real problem??
There are just a few things that can fail on the steering system, and all of them are very easy to replace. The awful part is that it has to be done inside what I call the dark side of the boat....

  Try to send some pics!

  Regards,

  Max

Mine broke at the pedestal....right after the metal sleeve. I try to pull it out but it doesn't want to come out. Shall I just pull harder.

I also had the good fortune of loosing control of rudder. I looked and found the cable that is supposed to wrap around donut-shaped device with grooves in it does not have the cable in the grooves. Is it OK to put a screw driver under cable and have someone turn wheel. I hope this would snap it back into track on donut..
