[C38] Mast deck collar

Jonathan,

On SuperStar the halyards lead through blocks attached to the deck 
collar to rope clutches and then to the winches.   Sidney, the 
original owner, did not want winches on the mast or boom, preferring 
two shared winches on the deck.

There are immense forces on the halyards, especially when the mast 
pumps when powering through chop.   Yes, you will need a strut below 
to keep from pulling the deck off the boat (perhaps a little over 
dramatized, but you get the picture).  Ours is a turnbuckle 
connecting a bolt through the collar to the mast itself.

I will try to round up a few photos and send them to you later.
