Well, we have the transmission out of Hassle and on the mechanic's bench, also pulled the plate off the fly wheel.  The plate on the fly wheel is toast as well as a few of the gears in the transmission.  A new transmission costs about 1200 boat bucks which I don't happen to have laying around so I'm looking for a little help here.  Anyone out there in Catalina 38 land have a usable used transmission and plate?  Perhaps one they you opened and found that there is a bit more to rebuilding it and bought a new one????  I know this is a shot in the dark but even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.
