[C38] Another Toe Rail question/bow roller

Peg,

I just installed a bow roller from Garhauer that I really like. it is on the
port side of the forestay and I used starboard to level the roller to the toe
rail which it crosses. It is 2 1/2 by 24 inches and looks just right to me.
I did have to do a little grinding and drill an additional hole but I found a
local machine shop that made quick work of cutting through the stainless. When
I saw this set up on another 38 I had to do it to mine.

Max,

We bought a couple of Shaeffer cleats to use on the outboard track amidships. I
thought we'd only use them for spring lines during winter storms, but since we
moved to a downwind slip they are always in use. A great investment.

I'd love to see how these forepeak modifications turn out. I've been wanting a
bow roller for IRIE, having the anchor live in the anchor locker is a pain, but
haven't seen anything on other boats that looks right.
