The gate valve on that diagram is what should be replaced for a ball valve..
That's my two cents!

Does anyone have a picture of their HX set up? I have an idea of how this is supposed to go back together but a visual would be helpful. My plan is to soak the unit in muriatic acid over night to clean all the gunk out and then reinstall. The HX seams to be doing fine other than being gummed up so I am going to forgo the pressure test this go around. I would really like to see how the hoses are laid out as well as the support bracket. My bracket was modified at some point and they did a very shoddy job. Thanks.
