Max, Tom, Steve and Kerry, thanks for your quick replies. Sorry for 3 postings, computer kept saying invalid address. Tom you are correct no plain round steps, dangerous. Old were clamped and bolted. Waiting for reply from Catalina Direct and Catalina. Have used Garhauer in the past, good idea. Again thanks.

Dick, I have no idea where you live, but after you have checked on a price from a local metal fabricator, please check with Garhauer Marine at (909) 985-9993.  All you need is a set of plans and they can help you.  They have beat every project price I have been involved in by at least 40% (minimum).  If Catalina yachts can not help you with the plans, I can take measurements and send them your way.

Anyone have any suggestions where to buy one of these? Realize you can have one made at a local TIG welding shop, looking to see if already made is less expensive. thanks in advance.
