[C38] Under Contract - Some questions

Well, I've officially put the cart before the horse!
I went back to defender's site where they're having a father's day sale and they knocked another $175 off the furler so I bit and had them hold the order till Monday.  That will give me the opportunity to cancel Monday morning if the survey goes bad...
There were only 2 left and now it shows 1 left.

This seems almost too good to be true!  I paid almost that much for a super furl for my O'day 22!
Anyway,  I think this will be great.  It has 8 - 79-inch extrusions.  Which is 52feet 8inches.  so, I think I will have to trim one of them back some adding in the drum and shackle, I think it will be plenty long.
Thanks for the all the feedback and comments.  I'm sure there will be more questions to come.
It's great so see the responses.  This list serve makes the boat a much better value!

  All modern fulers are good go for the best price, had my mast step done (found cracks in sole) cut out sole and replaced step was like wet paper with epoxied wood did not redo sole hid hole with molding cut cost looks great. Got great price on jib from Roly Tasker (north american sails) go for tri radial.

 1. I have had a profurl for over 10 years and over 20,000 miles with no trouble.  You do need to go with the close to the deck configuration.
 2. Steve Smolinske really likes Island Planet sails and I personally know how fast his boat is!  But, are many sailmakers out there and we all seem to have preferences.  If money is short, shop Bacon Sails or Minney's for used sails.  Sometimes you get lucky!

 5.  Make sure the surveyor sounds your deck for voids and checks for moisture.  I would be surprised if there was none as we have a cored deck and cabin.  Unless things are real bad, this should not be a deal killer.  Just get it fixed.  
 Have the surveyor look at your rigging, especially around turnbuckles.

  5. Any particular things or areas of focus I should make the surveyor aware of?
