Subject: Re: [C38] Quarter berth knee knocker
Guess I need to be more descriptive. Right above the engine access cutout is what I think is what Max is calling the fiberglass box inside the quarter berth. Every time I turn over I hit my knees on it, That is what I want to cut out. It will also be much easier to get at the transmission, heat exchanger etc. any ideas or has anyone already done this?

I was waiting for somebody to reply about that knee knocker, because I had no idea what Bill was talking about! I still have no idea! LOL
I also use that place under the chart table for shoes and sandals.. I'm going to install a kick board, that's a good idea Chuck!
Bill, by knee knocker, are you referring to the fiberglass box inside the quarter berth? The one on the top that is accessed from the cockpit?
If you cut that out you'll have lots of room on the inside. Check that the whole thing could still be a rigid structure....

Ok.... You got me!
What is the knee knocker????
My and I think all of our quarter berths run up to the chart table. I know folks have mounted things below the table and I once had a microwave there. I also have thought of putting a cabinet below the chart table, but for now have settled for installing a kick board across to hold shoes out of the way on the sharp slope.
Help me out here!

Has anyone cut out the knee knocker in the quarter berth. I think I would like to cut it out and install a cooler that could be used for storage , drinks whatever but removed at night and left in cockpit. Would also create a lot more room to work on engine. Thoughts?
