[C38] cockpit locker floor removal.

Russ: I had to work this weekend and didn't get down to the boat. Ill make
photos for you next week.

The sidewall of the cockpit locker was long gone when we purchased the
boat. No barrier to prevent ropes from falling onto the propeller shaft, ,
12" away, believe it or not!
I cut a thin piece of plywood that fit over the hole in the side wall
("side ply panel"), and keep it in place with a short screws into the
remaining fiberglass at the edge of the hole.
Then, I did what Tom T. advised, and cut out the floor of the locker. I
attached wooden base plates instead of the aluminum ones Tom used. I screw
it down to base plates when not removed, similar to Tom's design.

When I need to go down there (one of the richest delights of C38
ownership), I remove the side ply panel, and place it in the cock pit. Then
I remove the screws from the floor and hitch it to a bungee under the
rail. The bungee holds the floor out of the way against the hull (the
floor is so large as to be hard to remove from the locker and is very
awkward in the cockpit. The bungeed floor stays out of the way while I
crawl into my little hell.
