[C38] Chain Plates still leaking

That might work, but the longer depth would mean more "working" by the
chain plates as well.  I don't know much about mechanical stuff, but the
longer the lever, the greater the force.  I think some mechanical type
person might be able to model it.  What I am thinking is that the
"wiggle" of the chain plate would wear through the rubber pretty
quickly.  It is amazing how much stress there is on that gear when we're
sailing even in moderate breezes.
