Hi Steve,

I wrote to Larry Malmberg as well as Jim Holder at Mainsheet telling them I had run dry on ideas for a Tech article.  If you want any help with your Heat Exchanger article, let me know.

I wrote an article about heat exchangers a couple of years ago and I didn't want to duplicate that article but my article was more general than specific to the 38 so another specific to the 38 would probably be great.

I replaced my heat exchanger with a home made exchanger some years back but I didn't take photos to document it.  I am 500 miles from my boat and have not been to my boat much this year because of work schedules so that didn't help either in getting something ready for Mainsheet.

I wrote an article about enclosing an air cooled generator to make a helm seat and genset for our boats but I didn't submit the article because of liability reasons if someone didn't build the enclosure right and caused a fire.  I have a Catalina 27 on a lake near here and my little genset will work as a helm seat on either of my boats giving me quiet air conditioning at anchor.

Anyway, that genset article was my only topic as I have run dry on ideas so if you want to put an article together, please do and don't hesitate to ask for my help or advice if you want it.

If you want, I can also submit your article to Mainsheet giving you total credit for the article and also letting you see the submission draft for your approval before I submit it.

Okay its been a long time since our association has had an article in the mainsheets technical tips section.  I think that last one I saw was one Tom wrote a year or so ago.  I was thinking tonight that with all of the heat exchangers that were just replaced that it would make a good topic.  If everyone who has replaced one recently or in the past would forward to me the problems they had and the results after installation, Ill write a summary for publication.  Im also going to be doing alot of upgrading this winter, items that others have already done and can do the same type of summary on those items with your support.  So if youll email the results after replacing your heat exchngers Ill get something put together.  Thanks.
