Thank  you for the photo.  It appears that I may have the same bracket  
then.   The previous owner(s) may have added a few pieces of wood  when they 
redid the cable for additional support and was set at the wrong  angle.  I 
have the same RED morse control cable, I guess I just need the  clip and screws 
for the cable and then position it at 45 degrees on the  bracket like the 
diagram.  Any chance you have a photo from the side  showing the plate and 
cable connecting to the shift lever?   My  existing cable has clevis style 
connector at the end.  I want to make  it’s the proper one.

Not sure if this  photo is stock equipment or if some fabricated it along 
the way, but it  works.   One work of caution if you copy this, when 
tightening the  bolts into the transmission be careful not to strip the threads as I 
did when  working on it.   I had to retap the hole and use a larger  bolt.  
 Read the engine manual  I believe there is a discussion  on the proper 
angle that the cable should be in reference to the shifting  lever.

If  anyone in the community can provide the dimensions (L x W X D) of the 
bracket,  it would be greatly appreciated.  It does not appear that the part 
if  available anymore.  Any photos would be greatly appreciately for frame 
of  reference to rebuild mine.

It appears that my boat was  jury-rigged with a non-original bracket and 
with some supports.   I  am having some shifting problems now and was 
wondering if someone might know  where to order a new bracket that was design for 
the tranmission?  I  believe this is the original HURTH transmission.
