[C38] Rudder

Larry,
Frank Butler told us about 15 years ago our rudder was probably
water-logged. So about 5 years ago we ordered a new rudder and had it
installed. When they dropped the old rudder, the yard called us and
asked why we were changing rudders. "this one looks great", they said.
An hour later they called back - they said "Now we know why." The yard
boss had carried the new rudder across the yard himself. It took 3 guys
to carry the old rudder to the trash. This is probably only an issue for
us southern - boat in the water year round guys. The rest of you take
the boat out to dry periodically. Joe Launie/Macavity.
