We have two jib haylards of which we use the port halyard for the roller furling top drum.  We use the starboard spinnaker halyard which I believe is run  through a block above the jib sheave and then led into the mast with a chrome plated fair lead thingy.  We did not have a ball on spinnaker halyard and that may have been the main issue if the splice got caught too tightly in the block.  I plan to add a ball to the halyard, go aloft for a look around and see if there are other improvements to be made.  I would like to add a port side external spin halyard soon as I would like to have the ability to peel if needed, but I need to have a new mast collar constructed with additional mounting points for another block.  Maybe a good winter project.

David.  I'm interested in the  North ¾ and maybe some of the headsails.  I could come up from San Diego for pick up.  If you could contact me of the list at jsorensen at novarx.com we could discuss logistics.

I agree with Bill, if you are using a jib halyard, that would likely be a problem.   

For light sheets, we have just used some small line (3/16" or 1/4"), and tied a bowline with a very long loop (about 4 feet), so that you can tie it on the spinnaker without choking it in before taking the heavy sheet off.  You will need to remember to restore the heavy sheet before gybing.  

I have all of the racing spinnakers off of SuperStar for sale, including:

These are all in bags (turtles), and shipping costs would be added to the total price.    Other sails I have for sail include several headsails, including two carbon fiber jibs, one of which has seen very little use, a jibtop reacher and a fair to good condition mainsail.    I also have a bunch of other C38 equipment and parts (the family who purchased SuperStar are not racers).   I will try to post a list sometime soon...

3.                    And lastly, does anyone who uses very light spinnaker sheets in light air have a preference for light weight shackles.  The plastic Lewmar ones we use on the Serendipity tend to open up under load and I thought one of you may have a preferable option??  Or maybe we'll just tie on light line!
