[C38] The powerful 5424

What Max said makes sense it is a 2800 max rpm engine, under no load, and if you are now getting 2500 max under load, youre probably good, (I cruise about 2200). Are you noticing any problems? Does it still push you through the water at the same speed?

Before tearing into it check the calibration of your rpm gauge against the engine Rpms you can pick up a unit at freight harbor that is easy to use and inexpensive. Mine currently reads all over the place. So I go by sound and feel.
