[C38] Fixed Prop Spec's

Peregrine has the Universal M30 I believe that is 24hp, The 15 x 13 prop is not what my max prop was it refers to the fixed prop that the boats originally came with. A great resource for finding the correct max prop is PYI, give them a call, they are extremely helpful and knowledgable. They can give the recommendation on what pitch setting to set the prop at based on you configuration. Ill see what I have laying around at home for what mine was pitched at and try to post later. Normal cruise rpm for Peregrine was about 1800, and I would hit 6.5 knots.

Thanks Steve. Sounds like I could do a lot better with a different prop. Going from a 15x10P 2-blade to a 15x13 3-blade should make a pretty big difference. For some time it has been obvious that my 35 HP engine could handle a more aggressive prop. What engine do you have and what is your normal cruise speed/RPM with your Max Prop?

Thanks,

Ray

Steve,

Is your Max Prop 2-blade or 3-blade?

Thanks,

Larry I loved my PYI feathering Max Prop, So So very smooth, always switched it from my martec at the end of the racing season and start of the cruising season, great in reverse too. 15″D x 13″P is what the site lists for the fixed prop.

Hi all, long time posting here. My Martec prop has died and since I think we are going to go to a cruising class for racing I need to find a prop. Any suggestions? Also I need the spec’s for a fixed prop for our Catalina 38’s, can anyone send me this info? If you have a used one or a used folding prop for sale let me know too. Thanks in advance.
