[C38] Chain locker

Tom,

It does not and should not share a thru hull.  I strongly suggest you
terminate the path to your bilge and clean out or re-bore the hole
through the bow.  No matter how good the patch if that is what was put
in on the bow, you should be able to see it at the bottom of the chain
locker.
When my hatch came open on Lake Erie, I had to go forward and fasten it
and was under water several times doing the task.  You have no option as
the bow is extremely heavy with the locker filled and the boat doesn't
respond well!

And by the way, I now stand on the anchor hatch and carefully fasten it
down after using it every time!   I also cut the hatch almost in half
and glassed the forward half in with re-enforcement to support a
windlass.  I also installed a washdown pump in the anchor locker which I
also recommend.  The pump is  mounted under the vee birth and gets its
water from the thru hull that supplies the head.

Best,
Chuck Finn
