[C38] Purchasing a Catalina 38 (maybe)

David,
I think each boat may be unique, and your intent of going over it  
carefully is important. You may find your boat has been re-powered,  
for example, like Palancar so you wouldn't have to worry about old- 
engine problems.   You'll enjoy the occasional spurts of traffic on  
this list-serve on one topic or other relating to the fleet. I would  
recommend for fun you check out the Catalina 38 web site if you've  
not done it yet:  http://www.catalina38.org/.  You'll learn about the  
fix-it stuff as well as what a great craft the Catalina 38 is.
